After the brutal attacks on the owner, editor, and journalist of Face TV Senad Hadžifejzović, we requested a comment from the Delegation of the European Union to B&H.
-The EUD/EUSR strongly condemns all threats and attacks against journalists and media freedom- they stated.
They added that journalists in B&H must be able to perform their work in full safety.
-Attacks on media are violations of journalists’ rights, as their safety is a precondition for free speech and free media.We recall that one of the 14 key priorities outlined in the Commission Opinion on B&H’s EU membership application is to guarantee freedom of expression and of the media and the protection of journalists, including by ensuring the appropriate judicial follow-up to cases of threats and violence against journalists and media workers- they concluded.
Recall, the attempt to break into the editorial office of Face TV happened in the midst of frantic attacks, insults and drawing targets on the foreheads of "unsuitable" journalists in the country.
