In the first seven months of this year, Bosnia and Herzegovina imported 124.6 million liters of water, in the amount of 132.2 million KM.

The Indirect Taxation Authosrity confirmed for FENA that water was imported mostly from Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia.

At the same time, 69.8 million liters of water worth 27.9 million KM were exported from Bosnia and Herzegovina, mostly to neighboring countries.

Although Bosnia and Herzegovina is extremely rich in water, this trend is regularly explained by the fact that the free market, a constant and very expensive marketing campaign of well-known brands, distribution and efficient sales channels greatly facilitate better placement of imported water on the domestic market.

The Chamber of Foreign Trade of BiH believes that this gap can only be reduced by greater protection of domestic production in the sense of better quality control when importing goods from neighboring countries, increased marketing campaigns of domestic brands and more intensive purchase of domestic products.
