An extraordinary session of the Presidency of BiH was held today, where the proposal of BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik that the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović not participate in the Crimea Platform conference was rejected.

The Chairman of the BiH Presidency received an invitation letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to participate in the Crimea Platform conference.

After Džaferović, as chairman of the BiH Presidency, accepted the invitation, Dodik demanded an extraordinary session and proposed the conclusion that Džaferović should not participate, which was rejected by Džaferović and member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić.

In addition to the above, Dodik also proposed the conclusion that Bosnia and Herzegovina should take a neutral stance towards Russian aggression against Ukraine, which was also rejected, as it would be a change in BiH's official stance on this issue.

The Crimea Platform is a diplomatic initiative in which a large number of heads of state and government, including all EU and NATO members, participate, and which was launched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. It is designed to be an international coordination mechanism with the aim of reversing the illegal 2014 annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, the office of the Chairman of the BiH Presidency told FENA.
