Following the lawsuit filed by Fahrudin Radončić, President of SBB, against Bosnia and Herzegovina for damages for unjustified deprivation of liberty and illegal detention, represented by lawyers Asim Crnalić and Almina Pilav, the Court of BiH issued a verdict ordering Bosnia and Herzegovina to pay Radončić 27,000 KM within 30 days.

The verdict established that the president of SBB suffered a violation of his reputation, honor and personal rights due to unjustified deprivation of liberty in a mounted criminal procedure, which was conducted against him for three years and ended with a final acquittal in October 2018.

In the explanation of the verdict, the Court of BiH stated that Fahrudin Radončić's honor and reputation were violated due to the detention measure for 66 days, and the prohibition measure, because he is a businessman and politician, who was also a successful merchant.

At the time of his detention and the ban, he served as a delegate to the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and as president of the SBB political party.

Explaining the violation of Radončić's human rights, the court pointed out:

- He was BiH Security Minister before deprivation of freedom, in the 2010 elections, he won 142,338 votes, and in the elections in 2014. he won 201.454 votes, and during the detention he was a candidate for the member of the Presidency of BiH. The imposition of these measures and the conduct of criminal proceedings, resulted in a decrease in the reputation and honor of prosecutor, as well as the reputation of business partners and colleagues who work in public and political office, the public in BiH in general and the electorate .

In addition to the above, the defendant BiH is obliged to reimburse Radončić for the costs of the proceedings in the amount of 4,487.20 KM.

In 2019, in the criminal procedure that ended with a final acquittal, Radončić was awarded costs in the total amount of 24,025.95 KM.

Radončić will donate all the received financial resources, ie a total of 55,513.15 KM, for humanitarian purposes, as he did in all cases of receiving compensation for damages due to defamation.

After the establishment of this legal standard, it is expected that Radončić will demand multimillion amounts from certain media that completely illegally published even falsified transcripts of his conversations, in order to cause him and the company as much economic damage as possible - SBB said.
