Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero will be unavailable to play for at least three months after undergoing heart tests, the club announced Monday.
According to its official website, the Argentine star was “subjected to a diagnostic and therapeutic process” that will prevent him from playing for a while and “the effectiveness of treatment will be evaluated in order to determine his recovery process.”
The 33-year-old felt unwell in the first half of a La Liga match between Barcelona and Alaves on Saturday and was replaced before half time by Philippe Coutinho.
Aguero was then taken to a hospital for cardiological evaluation.
The former Manchester City player has produced one goal in five matches for Barcelona so far.
