Several thousand citizens gathered tonight in Banja Luka's "Mladen Stojanović" park for a peaceful protest organized by representatives of the opposition in Republika Srpska dissatisfied, as they claim, with electoral theft and fraud, primarily in the context of the race for the president of that entity.
The participants of the rally went on a peaceful walk towards Trg Krajine, where the opposition leaders made official speeches and messages were sent to the authorities in order, as the organizers say, to get to the truth and respect the will of the voters.
The president of the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP), Branislav Borenović, addressed those gathered in the park calling for peace and dignity, and hailed the police who, as he says, resisted the pressure and did not forbid the protest march.
Jelena Trivić, Dodik's opponent and the PDP candidate for the president of the RS, also arrived at the protest, previously said that she would not give up the fight for the truth, and stated that some members of the polling committees were threatened and some of them were mistreated.
- I as a candidate, will not give up on this process. The election was not stolen from me but from the people of the RS. We have countless examples of fraud. We will hand over everything to the CEC of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We will ask for a recount and opening of the bags - said Trivić.
