BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik said yesterday that he was eavesdropping on the American ambassador to BiH, Michael Murphy.
The EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina reacted to this statement. They pointed out for the "Avaz's" portal that states are obliged to protect free communication.
- Under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which all UN member states have signed and which governs the relations between diplomatic missions and the states that host them, states are required to permit and protect the free communication for all official purposes of diplomatic missions. Respect for the rule of law is a key element of EU accession process, and as a country which aspires to EU membership, Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected to honour the legally binding commitments it has entered into.
