All political parties represented in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) parliament on Monday agreed to hold snap elections next Jan. 23.
Parliament Speaker Onder Sennaroglu said after a meeting of all parties that they reached an agreement for general elections to be held in 2022, on year ahead of schedule.
He also said a committee representing each political party will be established to amend the election and voting law ahead of the polls.
Sennaroglu added that the committee will work on changing the "mixed voting system."
