The first contingent of consumables for the needs of mass vaccination of the population arrived in the Tuzla Canton today. These are syringes, needles, disposable cotton pads, and sharp waste bins, which are provided as a result of cooperation between the Government of the Tuzla Canton and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in B&H.
-We have excellent cooperation with UNDP on several development programs. One of the aspects of this cooperation is in the field of health, and in that context, we are implementing this program to ensure material preconditions for mass vaccination of the population of Tuzla Canton. We are very grateful to our UNDP partners for that. Thus, we complete the preparations for immunization with this equipment and together with our checkpoint plan, i.e. the intention to do immunization through health centers. We still only lack vaccines, which unfortunately we cannot get on our own- said the Prime Minister of the Tuzla Canton Kadrija Hodžić.
He said he could not estimate when a significant amount of vaccines would arrive in B&H.
About 8,000 doses of vaccines have arrived in the Tuzla Canton so far and they have already been administered to priority groups, health workers and some citizens over 65 years of age.
-Unfortunately, we are limited by the activities of higher levels of government. Of those quantities that come to B&H, a certain part belongs to us and that is about 20 percent of the total number of vaccines that belong to the entity of the Federation of B&H- said the Minister of Health Božo Jurić.
He confirmed that the epidemiological situation in that canton is currently slightly improved.
