Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Selmo Cikotić met today in Sarajevo with the Head of the Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in B&H Laura Lungarotti.
The two officials discussed the operational implementation of defined priorities in migration management and increasing the security for the citizens.
Cikotić and Lungarotti, among other things, gave priority to the execution of works and the establishment of adequate accommodation capacities in Lipa near Bihać.
Preparatory works on access roads, water supply have already been completed at that location, activities for installing electricity have begun, and in the coming period, the installation of containers for the stay of migrants will begin.
Also, other projects to increase security within the reception centers in the Sarajevo Canton were discussed, as well as the safety of citizens in the local communities where the reception centers are located.
They emphasized the urgency of realization of these projects in order to improve the conditions of accommodation of migrants, but also to prevent safety infringement incidents and disturbances of public order and peace, stated the Ministry of Security of B&H.
