Ifet Feraget, a lawyer for the Memić family, also addressed the press at a peaceful gathering in front of the Sarajevo Prosecutor's office when the request for the resignation of Chief Prosecutor Sabija Sarajlija was submitted. Five years after the murder of Dženan Memić, they launched an investigation that resulted in the arrest of police officer Hasan Dupovac and Zijo Mutap, the father of Alisa Mutap, who was with Dženan on the fateful night when he was seriously injured.
Lawyer Feraget does not believe that Muriz Memić's request for the prosecutor's resignation will have any result, although in his opinion it is well-founded.
- Yesterday, the Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation based on the evidence that is in the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office. We should ask ourselves how we came to the situation that one prosecutor's office is investigating the work of another - said Feraget.
He also stated that the two acquittals of the Cantonal Court were more than enough reason "to ask ourselves whether every prosecutor has the right to file false indictments."
- Everyone who worked illegally must be prosecuted. That does not mean that they will be punished, we are just looking for responsibility. This request is symbolic and we will see what will happen - Feraget emphasized.
He also touched on the status of Dalida Burzić, the former chief prosecutor in this investigation.
- In relation to Dalida Burzić, there is no order to conduct an investigation. There are more prosecutors and they all had to be prosecuted. We demand responsibility, by filing a false indictment you have not saved the time that protects you from persecution. It turned out that in this case, the rule of law does not exist - claims Feraget.
He stated that the Prosecutor's Office of B&H should be allowed to do its job.
- We will let the Prosecutor's Office of B&H do its job in peace, this is the third Court dealing with this case, and the case is such that a lawyer without a lot of experience would solve this in 30 days. If you are investigating and prosecuting organized crime, it is no longer about traffic and that is clear to everyone. It is an attempt to convince all of us not to believe our eyes, our reason, but them. I filed a criminal complaint against more than 40 people, number one is Dalida Burzić - says Feraget.
He added that prosecutors are not entitled to special protection.
- I have said many times that criminals sit in prosecutor's offices. Prosecutors are not entitled to special protection. Like every citizen, they must answer as soon as there is a basis for doubt. In the Dženan Memić case, no one says where the green van came from? Let Dalida Burzić say with whom she was meeting on Vlašić - Feraget wonders.
He also stated that millions of funds were spent on a case that could have been resolved in a month. He believes that everything related to this case can be applied to the "Dragičević case".
- Every fool could see after the first examination of David Dragičević's body that he had been killed. One of the demands is that the state prosecutor's office take over this investigation as well. Someone led this group that was arrested, now this needs to be proven. Let them tell us where the green vehicle came from, let Dalida tell us with who she was meeting on Vlašić, David and Dženan are twin brothers according to the accident both of them had - Feraget concluded.
