German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed concern today over the intrusion of Donald Trump supporters into the US Congress building, Reuters reports.
-We all saw disturbing scenes of the intrusion into the US Congress yesterday and these scenes made me angry and sad. I regret that President Trump has not admitted defeat since November last year, as he did not yesterday as well, Merkel said at a meeting of German conservatives.
Merkel called the hundreds of Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol Hill building "attackers and rioters" and added that she was sure that Biden would be inaugurated as the president of the USA in two weeks, Reuters reports.
Four people were killed and 52 were arrested after Donald Trump supporters stormed the Capitol Hill building to prevent Congress from confirming Joe Biden's victory in the presidential election, the chief of police in Washington said.
