Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said he believes that he would have the opportunity to meet with US President-elect Joe Biden in the first half of next year.
Vučić told RTS that he has better personal relations with Biden than with the outgoing President Donald Trump, but he also reiterated his position that it would have been easier for Serbia if the previous administration had remained. Speaking about the fate of the agreement on the normalization of economic relations between Belgrade and Priština, which was signed in the presence of Trump at the beginning of September, Vučić emphasized that Serbia respects its word and signature.
Former ambassador of Serbia to the USA, Đerđ Matković, stated that it is extremely important that the bilateral meeting between Vučić and Biden will be held in the first months of the work of the new American administration.
- One of the main topics will be the Washington Agreement and the President has clearly said that Serbia will respect its word and its signature, regardless of the change in the White House - our interlocutor emphasizes.
